Dealing With Difficulties
Get Rid of Fear
Jan 16th
Have you been struggling with fears that take over your mind? Do you worry a lot about finances, family members, illness, job security, being lonely, people dying, or safety? The bad news is that if you live in fear, you are deceived. The good news is that Jesus is here to set you free from deception and the fear that goes with it.
“What?” you say, “I have good reasons to be afraid because…..”
What you may not have realized is that you have been putting faith in yourself, in your circumstances, and in what you see with your eyes. God wants More >
Dealing With Holiday Stress
Dec 9th
Every year I think that I’ll simplify Christmas celebrations so that I can deal better with holiday stress. But I don’t always do it.
It’s so easy to busy myself with so much baking, decorating, entertaining, attending Christmas events, and shopping, that I end up getting stressed and rushing through the season without focusing on the reason for the season. It takes real resolve to make decisions to NOT attend every single Christmas craft show, big sale, Christmas play, and holiday party. Running off to all these things just builds stress. I have decided to cut back a bit on decorating More >
He Gives More Grace
Nov 5th
Even while in nursing care, Mom played the piano for as long as she was able.
by Karen RobertsOne of my mother’s favorite songs was “He Giveth More Grace.” She loved to sit at the piano and play hymns, and that song was one that she frequently played. When I was young and carefree, I didn’t really think about what the words meant. But Mom recently passed away, and on the list of her favorite hymns was this song”

Oh Death, Where Is Thy Sting?
Oct 21st
1 Corinthians 15:15 asks, “Oh death, where is thy string? Oh grave, where is thy victory?”
These words come to our minds when we have loved ones who have loved and followed Jesus, and who are dying or who have recently died. We know that they are simply leaving their bodies and going on to be with Jesus in a far better place than this earth - a place where there is no sickness, no sorrow, and no pain. Heaven is a place where they will see their precious Savior and worship Him forever, as well as seeing their beloved friends More >
Remembering 9-11
Sep 9th
by Karen S. Roberts Today two other people and I talked about where we were when we heard about the tragedy of 9-11. I shared with them that I was working at the Salvation Army, getting ready for the arrival of children at our after-school program. When the receptionist received a call about what was happening, our first reaction was one of unbelief. But soon the Captain brought in a TV and we watched in horror as there was replay after replay of the fall of the towers and more and more reports. We began to pray.
One of my strongest memories More >
In All Your Ways Acknowledge Him
Aug 15th
by David Roberts Proverbs 3:6 is a well known and often quoted Scripture verse. “In all thy ways acknowledge Him and He shall direct thy paths.” The goal is to have the great Creator and Operator of the universe actually take the time and interest to direct our paths. That sounds like an offer too good to be true, yet it is Scripture; it is God’s Word, and He is no liar since the father of lies can find nothing in Him. Who wouldn’t want his or her paths directed by the One Who knows the future now before it happens More >
St. Patrick’s Day Devotional
Mar 15th
Many people celebrate St. Patrick’s Day because it’s fun to wear green, go to parades, and have parties. But most Christians do not realize that St. Patrick was an apostolic missionary to Ireland. He saw many signs and wonders happen during his ministry because He walked in the Spirit daily. He valiantly stood against the powerful demonic forces of the paganism that filled Ireland at that time. St. Patrick lived from 389 to 461 AD. He has kidnapped from his native England when he was sixteen years old and was sold by his kidnappers to Miliucc, a pagan chieftain More >
