He Gives More Grace
Nov 5th
Even while in nursing care, Mom played the piano for as long as she was able.
by Karen RobertsOne of my mother’s favorite songs was “He Giveth More Grace.” She loved to sit at the piano and play hymns, and that song was one that she frequently played. When I was young and carefree, I didn’t really think about what the words meant. But Mom recently passed away, and on the list of her favorite hymns was this song”

Rest From Your Labor by Worshiping
Sep 5th
It’s Labor Day evening. Many of us have been resting from our normal labor today. In these few final hours before we resume our normal work schedule, let’s enter into God’s holy Presence by worshiping along with those singing in these beautiful worship videos.
Lean back and close your eyes if you want. Relax and concentrate on Jesus and how wonderful He is. Or get up and dance to express your love to God. Worship in the way that brings you closer to Him.
There is nothing like worship to rejuvenate us and to prepare us for the work that lies More >
Jesus is Beautiful
Jun 27th
When you know and love Jesus, you can’t help but to burst into song! As you grow to understand who He is and how much He loves you, you gain ever increasing glimpses of His beauty. Praises flow out of you, and sometimes you feel overwhelmed by His goodness to you. Joy and peace fill you as you draw close to Him and get caught up in worshiping Him. Thousands of songs have been written about Jesus, because knowing Him personally is such a beautiful experience. But the thousands of songs already written about Him cannot begin to express everything More >
The Day After Good Friday
Apr 24th
by Karen Roberts
I can’t help but believe that the following devotion is critical for someone to read. I have never had so much difficulty in posting on this blog before. I had at least half of this written and hit the button to save the draft and the whole thing disappeared. Then I rewrote and got a bit further and my whole computer screen blacked out. I had to wait until today, Easter Sunday, to post this. If the enemy is battling my writing this, then there is great victory that the Lord wants to give to someone who is More >
Christmas Greetings
Dec 10th
by David Roberts
About three years ago, I was in a post office buying stamps for the Christmas season. I observed the postal worker wish each customer “Happy Holidays” when he was done with the transaction. When it came my turn, I asked for my Christmas stamps, and when he said his usual greeting, I mentioned that maybe he could wish a “Merry Christmas” to people who specifically asked for Christmas stamps. He looked at me like I had two heads. // Most people who care about traditions, especially concerning the Christmas season, have noticed the intrusion of Political Correctness into More >
What’s Missing In Our Devotions?
Oct 17th
David Roberts
by David Roberts // We know about prayer and its proper place in devotions. Its importance during our devotional time cannot be over emphasized. Similar claims have been made for worship and praise, and again, though they have their very important place in devotions, there is still something left out of most of our expressions of love to and for our Father. I believe that what may be lacking in our spiritual lives is silence.
There are a number of Bible verses where the importance of being still before Him is stressed. I suppose that the most well-known is More >
Singing Senior Touched Hearts
Oct 3rd
Since I was home with a bad cold today and couldn’t go to church, I did some channel surfing and found a broadcast of a Bill Gaither gathering. This took place before Eva Mae Lafevre, a great southern gospel singer, went to be with the Lord at age 92. As I saw her singing for Jesus, at age 90 with her son, a few tears came to my eyes.
// I never got into much Southern Gospel Music, preferring a more contemporary sound, but there is something about some of this genre of music, when done by Spirit-filled Christians, that touches More >
I Am Free
Jun 25th
// Those who have never experienced a personal relationship with Jesus Christ probably can’t understand what Christians mean when they say, “I am free!” There are many kinds of freedom that come to us when we know and walk with Jesus on a day by day basis.
First of all, we are free from the power of sin in our lives. We are instantly forgiven the moment we admit our sin to God, accept that Jesus took the punishment for our sins through His death on the cross, and invite Him to take over our lives. He gives us the power More >
