“Jesus Was Too Busy to Pray Too”

A good New Year‘s Resolution is to spend more time praying and listening to God. But we often say we have no time to do so! Read Chris’s interesting thoughts on this.
“Jesus Was Too Busy to Pray Too”
by Chris Vasecka
Read Luke 4:31-44
Are you busy? Don’t answer. I know the answer is yes. We are all busy. We have work, and kids, and baseball, and swimming, and church, and hobbies, and yard work, and, and, and… We certainly don’t have any space left for personal time with God. We couldn’t possibly start our morning in prayer and study. Oh, More >
Dealing With Holiday Stress
Dec 9th
Every year I think that I’ll simplify Christmas celebrations so that I can deal better with holiday stress. But I don’t always do it.
It’s so easy to busy myself with so much baking, decorating, entertaining, attending Christmas events, and shopping, that I end up getting stressed and rushing through the season without focusing on the reason for the season. It takes real resolve to make decisions to NOT attend every single Christmas craft show, big sale, Christmas play, and holiday party. Running off to all these things just builds stress. I have decided to cut back a bit on decorating More >
Christmas Devotional: When God Breaks In
Dec 4th
God broke through to the shepherds.
by Dr. Marilyn Murphree
“..and the glory of the Lord shone round about them, and they were terrified. Luke 2:9
People in the Bible who were confronted by God or His angels all had one consistent response—fear. The angel’s message was always preceded by the words,”Fear not.” These people felt afraid because they were not used to having God break into their lives. There was such a contrast between the glory of the Lord and their sense of sinfulness and unworthiness. They were immediately afraid of what was to come next. In today’s scripture the same thing More >
Thanksgiving on Facebook and Twitter
Nov 20th
The world of social media has opened new ways to celebrate Thanksgiving. Many on Facebook have been sharing one thing they are thankful for each day for a month, up until Thanksgiving. On Twitter, if you do a search for the word “Thankful,” you’ll come up with loads of Tweets about the subject.
Give thanks for all His blessings.
Many of the posts on being thankful on both Facebook and Twitter are very inspiring. They enable us to have a little peek into people’s life situations and attitudes of thanking God in spite of trials. They are inspiring to read. I’ll More >Rest From Your Labor by Worshiping
Sep 5th
It’s Labor Day evening. Many of us have been resting from our normal labor today. In these few final hours before we resume our normal work schedule, let’s enter into God’s holy Presence by worshiping along with those singing in these beautiful worship videos.
Lean back and close your eyes if you want. Relax and concentrate on Jesus and how wonderful He is. Or get up and dance to express your love to God. Worship in the way that brings you closer to Him.
There is nothing like worship to rejuvenate us and to prepare us for the work that lies More >
Fathers Day Gift Ideas
Jun 18th
Finding a gift that Dad will like can be a challenge. When asked what he wants, my husband always answers, “Socks and undershirts.” I like to be more creative than that, although sometimes that’s exactly what I give him.
If you are scrambling the last minute and didn’t have time to shop for dad, maybe you could make him a video. Or at least send him an email with a link to this one:
Here are some great gift ideas for dad, whether for Father’s Day, his birthday, Christmas, or any other occasion. Included are devotional resources, for helping Dad grow spiritually More >
The Day After Good Friday
Apr 24th
by Karen Roberts
I can’t help but believe that the following devotion is critical for someone to read. I have never had so much difficulty in posting on this blog before. I had at least half of this written and hit the button to save the draft and the whole thing disappeared. Then I rewrote and got a bit further and my whole computer screen blacked out. I had to wait until today, Easter Sunday, to post this. If the enemy is battling my writing this, then there is great victory that the Lord wants to give to someone who is More >
St. Patrick’s Day Devotional
Mar 15th
Many people celebrate St. Patrick’s Day because it’s fun to wear green, go to parades, and have parties. But most Christians do not realize that St. Patrick was an apostolic missionary to Ireland. He saw many signs and wonders happen during his ministry because He walked in the Spirit daily. He valiantly stood against the powerful demonic forces of the paganism that filled Ireland at that time. St. Patrick lived from 389 to 461 AD. He has kidnapped from his native England when he was sixteen years old and was sold by his kidnappers to Miliucc, a pagan chieftain More >
Valentines Day – Then and Now

Show Love To Your Valentine
by David Roberts
From the distant and mysterious past comes the tradition of St. Valentine and the date February 14. Some believe that he was a Roman martyr who died on February 14, 269 AD for refusing to give up Christianity; Other stories indicate that he defied the Roman dictator, was imprisoned, and was sentenced to be beaten to death. But after hours of suffering that did not kill him, the soldiers cut off his head. This one of several St. Valentines is supposed two have sent a note from prison to one of his followers (the More >
