A Broken Wrist and Wounds of the Soul

My friend and hair dresser, Janet Miller, asked many questions of the Lord during her recent accident which caused a broken wrist.  Through prayer, the Lord revealed truths about soul wounds in the Body of Christ.  I believe that the Lord has given her a prophetic word that can speak deeply into our hearts.  I’m happy to report that after a short time of not being able to cut hair, she’s back at it!

Lessons from a Wrist Wound

On Sunday evening, December 5, 2010, my husband was scheduled to speak at our church. Five minutes before we were to leave, I fell down some steps and landed on my wrist. It was twisted and swollen, and my fingers were immovable and turning blue. This was an outright attack of the enemy coming against the message the Lord had given my husband.

Certain the wrist was broken, my husband wanted to immediately take me to the emergency room. I declined his compassionate offer because I wanted to hear his message on Ezekiel 37, “Can These Dry Bones Live?. I attended the service, believing my wrist would be supernaturally healed, either during worship or sometime during the message. However, the Lord had a different plan! As I sat through the entire service, no healing took place. In fact, the pain worsened and the swelling was more prominent. My wrist was twisted, and my fingers were immobile from the wound.

After the service, an emergency room visit and X-rays revealed that my wrist was broken.   I was really dismayed, because I thought I had enough faith to be healed. Looking at my twisted wrist, I wondered if I would ever be normal and be able to function properly again after this wounding. Little did I know, that what the devil meant for evil, the Lord would completely turn around, not only for my good, but for His Glory!

Over time, the Lord then began to give me revelation on how this experience was applicable to my spirit and soul. It has changed my life, and I am fully persuaded it is a message for the body of Christ.

After having surgery and coming out of the anesthesia, I realized that my fingers were once again moving, due to the surgical realignment of the bones. Then the Lord spoke to me, “When your soul lines up with the Word of God, you will walk in divine health and in the power of my Spirit!”

Seven weeks after my injury, when my cast was removed, I was shocked at the loss of mobility in my hand (due to the loss of muscle tone and the shrinkage of the tendons). The simplest tasks became my largest burdens. It was as if part of me had died. I could not function in the everyday capacity and competence that I was used to. However, in order for my hand to be fully restored and operate in the way it was created to function, I knew I had to choose therapy in order to receive full restoration. In my flesh, I didn’t want to go through any more pain! But in order to be restored to full functionality, I knew I needed to choose the painful therapy.

At this time, the Lord spoke to me once again:

Just as this one wound has caused immobility to your hand, so has the wounding of the soul caused immobility of your faith – a crippling of your faith – just as it has in the body of Christ. Just as you must choose to go through therapy to restore the hand function, so must one choose to go through the pain of the restoration of the wounds of the soul….and the therapist is the Holy Spirit.

On Feb 21, 2011, the Lord spoke to me, and said….

You are whole – spirit, soul and body. Just take it by faith and walk in it. Don’t let doubt steal your blessing. Appropriate your healing. It’s been purchased for you…. receive it.

My love for you is greater than you have ever imagined. Receive my love. You can TRUST my LOVE. It never fails….walk in it.

I AM, I AM, I AM….I am always with you. Line your soul up with my WORD. Watch and see what I will do for you. The cross is where it has all ended… and it is here where it has all begun. The cross has stripped the devil of all his power. The resurrection power is in you. All power has been given to Me (Jesus). I delegated the power to you. Appropriate that which has been given.

Walk in my love, don’t be offended. For those who would offend you do not understand this great love. They have a need to receive my love through you. They have wounds to their soul that only love can heal. If you are willing, I can use you. I was willing to die for you. Allow me to use you.

I have been working the cross in your life. You are ready. Don’t allow offense to slip in. You have my love…walk in it…and I will work through you. People around you will become whole. You are whole.

Then the Lord gave me this scripture: 1 Thessalonians 5:23. Through it, He said to me, “The God of peace himself will make you whole, spirit, soul and body.”

He continued speaking to me…

Offense brings wounding to the soul. The reason the enemy comes to offend is to greatly distract you. All energy goes to the wound. When one is healed and made whole (blameless) … [Blameless – means not being able to be offended or bring offense to others] …then, nothing will hurt you. You will become whole, and then you will be able to hear the voice of the Father. When one is made whole, one can function as I foreordained before the foundation of time.

The wounds of the past have caused My Body (the Body of Christ) to acclimate themselves with the wounds, causing them to think this is normal living. This has brought a crippling to the Body of Christ. Wholeness removes the limitations, therefore, releasing full function as I, the Lord, have ordained from the beginning of time.

The Lord then gave me this scripture: Ezekiel 37:4-6: Then he said to me, “Prophesy to these bones and say to them, ‘Dry bones, hear the word of the Lord!’ This is what the Sovereign Lord says to these bones: I will make breath enter you, and you will come to life. I will attach tendons to you and make flesh come upon you and cover you with skin. I will put breath in you, and you will come to life. Then you will know that I am the Lord.” These were verses my husband used in his sermon! When I heard him preach, I did not realize how real these words would become to me.

I asked the Lord how this scripture applies to our lives.

The Lord said to me…

Your tendons need to be stretched in order for your hand to function as it should. The wound of the broken bones caused atrophy, and through immobility, the tendons shrank. Now they need to be stretched in order to bring the hand into its full function. Just as the wound caused tendons in the hand to shrink, the wound to the soul (from offense) has caused the tendon of the soul, which is your faith, to shrink. Faith has now been replaced with fear, doubt and unbelief.

I (the Lord) have to stretch the tendons of the soul by allowing insurmountable circumstances. Only through these experiences is one brought to a place of total dependency on me, forcing the tendons of the soul (faith) to be exercised. Only through the stretching can one come to wholeness….only as you will to yield to Me and trust Me.

Trust is the therapy that relaxes the tendons of the soul, which now allows the soul to be pliable and can receive my Word. Now you apply it, and you can run with it.

Faith is restored as you trust me, which will now give you the ability to enter into rest and peace, which will bring you into wholeness. Through the wholeness of your soul, walking in faith, now you hear My voice and are able to overcome the mountains in your life. You now are able to receive the grace that has been so greatly poured out to you. As you receive grace and mercy, now you’re able to release grace and mercy.

Criticism and complaining will stop. Now unity is able to come forth, and through the unity, blessing is released. You are now positioned to fulfill that to which you have been called before the foundation of time. Faith NOW operates.”

The Lord also gave me this scripture: Psalm 133:1&3. “How good and pleasant it is when brothers live together in unity!…..For there the Lord bestows his blessing, even life forevermore.“

In 2 Cor. 1:6 the apostle Paul said this, “If we are distressed, it is for your comfort and salvation; if we are comforted, it is for your comfort, which produces in you patient endurance of the same sufferings we suffer.”

Paul looked at his sufferings and the opposition he faced and concluded, “This isn’t just for me. God is doing something in me for the benefit of others”.

It is my prayer that what I have gone through and the revelation the Lord gave to me, will greatly benefit each and every person who reads this.
